Leyla Dirim is a Berlin-based storyteller behind the lens — a Photographer, Photojournalist, Interpreter, Translator, and Web Designer, born and raised in Germany. Her work is not just about capturing photos, but about weaving together cultures, languages, and perspectives.
On her blog, Leyla shares photographs and reflections from the places she’s explored, with a keen eye for architecture, art, and landscapes. Over time, her curiosity has also expanded into the dynamic world of sports photography, where she captures the energy, emotions, and movements of athletes in action. This portfolio brings together some of her favorite moments from sporting events.
One thing you should know: Leyla has a deep love for coffee, especially sade türk kahvesi. It fuels her adventures and creative spirit. Traveling is her heartbeat, and when she’s surrounded by nature, she finds strength, balance, and inspiration.
Photography has been her passion since childhood — a lifelong companion that continues to shape how she sees and shares the world.

structures, environment, colors, architecture, tradition ...
The Ortaköy Mosque in Istanbul, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Radio Tower in Berlin.
What do these three buildings have in common? I think every single element tells its story.
When the Ottoman Sultan Abdulmecid ordered the construction in 1854, he could not have chosen a better place than Ortaköy, one of the most popular and beautiful neighborhoods of Istanbul. The architects the two architects, Balyan, father and son, have done an impressive job within two years.
The mosque is also known as Büyük Mecidiye Camii, but mostly the inhabitants call this beautiful mosque in baroque architectural style simply Ortaköy Camii.
The Elbphilharmonie is a concert hall in Hamburg, which was completed in November 2016. It was planned to create a new landmark for the city and a “cultural center for all.”
The Radio Tower was ceremonially opened on the occasion of the Third Funk Exhibition on 3 September 1926. During the Second World War, one of the main struts was hit by a bomb, and at times the radio tower stood on just three legs. But the 600-ton colossus resisted and was repaired.
Different architectures
I like to look at lines, shapes, the design, the artwork, the colors and much more, and I try to catch the most beautiful moment for my picturehttps://leyladirim.com/home/
Different Lights and Shapes
The Festival of Lights 2020 was an open-air light art gallery with over 100 radiant works of art at 86 locations, spread all over Berlin on approximately 168 square kilometers. All illuminations lit up daily between 20.00 and 24.00 o’clock.
